Hwy 24 Gold, Colorado Gold isn't just a precious metal. Along this stretch of highway, it's a precious view. This panorama was taken along Colorado Highway 24 between Minturn and Leadville on a glorious fall morning. Down amongst the aspen, you can see a mining camp that's still in operation today. The drive is one of the prettiest in Colorado. Banding in this panorama was caused by moving clouds causing lighting changes while the panorama was being shot. Normally, I would wait for the sun to come out from behind a cloud to continue shooting the panorama in the same light. |
