Our daughter, Margaret, is dancing and we'll be there... Hope you can make it. I believe dinner starts around 4:30 and the show starts shortly after. -- Friday, January 25

Okay, I know the site has all the latest, updated weather for our area but this snowstorm caught me by surprise. I got up at my regular time and took my time drinking coffee and getting ready before heading out the door at 7 am. to catch the 7:13 bus to town (I figured he would be late).
After a half hour in mostly stopped traffic (who were those guys in 4X4 pickup trucks passing on the right, anyway?) I decided to abandon my efforts to get to the Aspen Park park and ride and leave my car at the closer Mountain View RTD stop. I got there at 7:35 and sat in my car and waited for the bus. And waited. And waited. At 8:20 a bus finally pulls in and I hop on, glad not to be sitting in my car. I learn this bus is not the 7:13 but the 6:13, which had some sort of mechanical breakdown (great, I'm on a bus that already broke down once this morning). In fact, the bus driver has been on the bus so so long that he, and a few passengers, get off in Aspen Park to use the Loaf n Jug restroom. We arrive at my Denver stop at 9:25 (normally I get there at 7:50, but who's counting?). When I got off I asked the driver if it was still 2002, but he wasn't amused. At least the drive in was nice, becuase the 10 or so people on the bus chatted about the weather and how the weather people had forecast only 1 to 3 inches in Denver and 2 to 4 in our area. I think we got about 7 inches in Pine Junction. The ride home should be a little more on-schedule (I hope). -- |
