Volunteer Digital Photographer Needed to Help CDTA

Imagine living and working in Colorado’s backcountry while building a part of history. This summer, the CDTA Youth Corps crews are building sections of the 3,100-mile Continental Divide National Scenic Trail – the “King of Trails” – through three National Forests in Colorado....

CDTA's field manager is looking for a photographer to accompany her on an overnight outing with a youth corps crew. You would also be asked to hike (between 1.5 -3 miles) on the Continental Divide to the crew's work site where WE NEED photos of the crew's working.

Potenially, quality photos will be used in future public information materials (about the CDTA Youth Corps program) such as brochures, event flyers, public releases and feature print articles.

You are invited to join CDTA's Kristin Drexler on July 3-4th at Berthoud Pass and/or July 8-9th (or July 9-10th) up at James Peak near Winter Park.

We will travel up to the camp sites in the afternoon, have dinner, have an environmental education/safety program that evening. Then, the next morning, we will hike and work with the crew at the work site on the Continental Divide Trail. We'll return that afternoon/evening.

If you're interested, feel free to contact me:

Pine, CO Restaurants are OPEN and need our business!

The Elk Creek Station, the Bucksnort, and the Trout River Grill were forced to close their doors during the "evacuation" of the town of Pine. Please help these restaurants stay in business by visiting them soon. The roadblock is now gone and you can move in and out freely.

The operating hours of the Elk Creek Station are Thursday - Sunday (11:00am to 10:00pm), Friday and Saturday (11:00am - Midnight), closed Mondays. Take 285 to Pine Valley Road and go 7 miles down into the heart of Pine. It's worth the drive from anywhere. (303) 838-4450

The Bucksnort Saloon is located at 15921 Elk Creek Rd (303-838-0284).

The Trout River Grill is located at the Crystal Lake Resort and is also open. Ignore the "Park Closed" sign as it only pertains to the Pine Valley Open Space park. 29200 Crystal Lake Road, Pine, CO (303) 838-7688.
