Join the Conifer Historical Society on a trip into the past and along the railroad bed of the Denver, South Park & Pacific Railroad.

The North Fork Historic District stretches from the South Platte to Pine Grove. Local Historians Gail King and Shelly Means will tell us all about La Hacienda, The Historic Blue Jay Inn, J.W. Green Mercantile, and the Green Mountain Ranch.

The program will be at the Little White Schoolhouse, 26951 Barkley Road in Conifer. Tickets are $8/$10 (m/n). Proceeds benefit the Little White Schoolhouse.

Reserve and purchase your tickets at http://www.ConiferHistoricalSociety.org or call 303-396-5975.

Join the Conifer Historical Society & Museum on July 16th at 1pm! Members $8, Non-Members $10. The North Fork Historic District's past mirrors that of many communities in the mountain regions of Colorado and the American West from the 1870s to the middle of the twentieth century. Tickets: www.coniferhistoricalsociety.org/tickets/

Stop on by the Little White Schoolhouse on Barkley Road after you have pancakes at the VFW this Sunday! Our program begins at 1pm. Hear about the Historic Blue Jay Inn, J.W. Green Mercantile, and more! http://ConiferHistoricalSociety.org/

John W. Green, Sr. arrived in Buffalo Creek in the 1880’s and operated a hotel and general merchandise store until they were destroyed by fire in 1897. In 1898, he constructed a new two-story building with walls of native granite cut into 18" squares. The building has a flat roof and first floor windows that are set in round arches. The local post office operated in the building, and the second floor often served as a community meeting hall.
