Here's what is coming up at Conifer Library during the closing weeks of July:

7/18- Magic: It's All About Cooperation: It's double the all-American fun in an old-fashioned vaudeville show, complete with ragtime music and classic magic. Master Magician Amazing Dave and his real life partner Comedy Magician and Entertaining Educator Connie Elstun present a sensational show featuring live rabbits, birds and members of the audience. Families work together to make real magic happen while learning about the history of American magicians. Suitable for: All Ages, Registration required

7/18- The Art House: Get your art on at our ongoing open workshop. Not a Rembrandt? Not to worry because we invite all skill levels to learn how to better use the visual vocabulary of shape, value, color, line, texture and edges. Led by Evergreen artist Chris McAllister, we'll explore these concepts in still life, landscape, portrait and figure paintings. Bring in a project you’re already working on or join in on a group project. You're welcome to work in oil or acrylic paints; simply bring your own painting supplies. Our ongoing classes are designed for continuous learning in an open, individualized environment. New students are welcome at any time. Come paint the town, well, whatever color you want. Suitable for: Adults

7/19- Game On! Stop twiddling your thumbs and break the daily monotony and get your game on! We have games but encourage you to bring your own to challenge friends (and make new ones!) Suitable for: Teens

7/25- LibLab: Build with Food: Yes, you CAN play with your food! Have a blast building with spaghetti, gumdrops, marshmallows and more in the library laboratory. Suitable for: Ages 4-8, Registration required

7/25- Book Group: Love to discuss great reads? That's what we do at the Tuesday Night Book Group. This month we're discussing Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. New members always welcome! Suitable for: Adults

7/29- Wild Things: Things get a little wild when Lookout Mountain Nature Center joins us for a story and show 'n' tell time. Kids will do an activity to reinforce the story that focuses on the natural world around us - prairies, wetlands, woods, weather, and more! Also, they might meet a live snake or touch a real animal pelt! Please register in advance. Suitable for: Ages 3-6
