Hey Burland Ranchettes and Adjacent Communities.

Burland Firewise NEEDS YOUR HELP Saturday June 30, 2018

We are finishing our SECOND MITIGATION PROJECT for longtime residents, Earl and Sonja Harris, 1800 Mockingbird Trail.

Our goal is to CREATE DEFENSIBLE SPACE which will LESSEN THE ADVERSE IMPACTS when a WILDFIRE occurs.

We have already invested two days felling trees, dragging and stacking slash along the roadside for chipping.

ONE MORE DAY and the mitigation project will be complete.

Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

If you can’t physically help drag slash, consider helping at the sign-in booth, bring food or drinks.

Come VOLUNTEER an hour or two or spend the day with us. Get to know your neighbors. Every hour counts!

THIS IS NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS TO BUILD A STRONGER COMMUNITY.

For more information or to VOLUNTEER contact Burland Firewise at firewisebrhoa@gmail.com or call David Sitko at 702/353-9639 or Jack Roberts 303/838-4225.

**** Burland Firewise’s third mitigation project will occur on July 28 / 29, in the adjacent community of Rowland Valley. That’s right. Burland Firewise not only performs mitigation within Burland, we help those communities adjacent to our boundary that are willing to help us. More information will be provided closer to time. ****

Come on out and learn about Burland Firewise. Meet the volunteers that are willing to help our neighbors create defensible space against wildfire. Come learn about the Home Ignition Zone and steps that you can take to reduce the threat of wildfire consuming your home. Come see that we are not clear cutting. See that we are selectively cutting, and creating crown separation between trees.

Todays Saws & Slaws project is at:
1800 Mockingbird Trail
Starting time is 9:00 am
Lunch, Snacks and drinks are provided

Today's focus is on dragging slash to the roadside and stacking. Hauling wood to the roadside to be given away as firewood.

Come spend an hour or two, or spend the day with us. One person can make a difference. Come meet your neighbors who share a common interest in protecting our homes and property.

Fifteen people helped this past Saturday to complete the Saws & Slaws Defensible Space mitigation project. Lot's of free firewood was given away. While there was much to accomplish, there was time for good conversation, and a great fried chicken and fixins lunch. Thank you Burland and adjacent communities for your great volunteers.

OUR NEXT SAWS & SLAWS EVENT WILL BE JULY 28 & 29. DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
