This community educational event applies to all within the Platte Canyon Fire Protection District and beyond.

Did you know that most homes are ignited from embers, not direct fire impingement. Come see a short video of a home ignited by embers.

Learn best practices for protecting your home from wildfire.

Did you know that Juniper trees and shrubs can be explosive during a wildfire? We will have a brief video showing this.

Ready, Set, GO! Do you have a plan? Come learn what you can do to prepare.

If you work outside of the Bailey area, who will evacuate your children? Are your children aware of your plan? Do you have elderly family or neighbors? Are your elderly family and neighbors physically challenged? How will they be evacuated?

What are you going to do with your animals? The Front Range Animal Rescue Team will share valuable information with you.

Doug Compton will address insurance.

Get an update on Fire Adapted Bailey and Evacuation Routes.

May 4th, 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Platte Canyon Fire Station #2 (Crow Hill)

I hope to see you there!

Great way to learn how to save your home and life. If we all do a little it will make a huge difference. Don’t miss the chance to learn what can make a big impact on reducing fire in this beautiful but volatile region.

Be sure to head to the Platte Canyon Fire Protection District, Station #2 (Crow Hill) on Saturday May 4th from 2 – 4 pm, for an Community Educational Event you won’t want to miss.

The Platte Canyon Fire and Fire Adapted Bailey have teamed up to present several important Wildfire topics.
Learn how embers ignite houses, and what you can do to “Harden” your home, reducing the potential for loss.
Ready, Set, GO will help you prepare for a wildfire event.

Many within the Platte Canyon area commute to the city for work. In many cases your children are old enough to stay home unattended. When a wildfire event occurs the fire department will be fighting the fire. They won’t have the time or staff to evacuate your children. Who will evacuate your children? Do your elderly neighbors need assistance? Are they physically challenged? YOU NEED A PLAN!

The Front Range Animal Rescue Team will share valuable information for the evacuation of small and large animals.

Doug Compton of Centennial State Insurance will address insurance.

Learn about Fire Adapted Bailey. Receive an update on our Community Wildfire Protection Plan and the Evacuation Routes to be mitigated.

Thank you for the great attendance at the Wildfire Preparedness Day presentation. We were just shy of 70 community members learning how to protect their families and homes from wildfire.
