34th Como Mountain Man Rendezvous-August 11th to 18th, in Como,CO.; This rendezvous is a pre-1840’s fur trade rendezvous re- :elk dance:
enactment. This means that we strive for all aspects of this event to be true to that era in the Rocky Mountains. This event
is held about 6 miles south of the town of Como, Colorado. Como is located in South Park, an intermountain grassland basin.
South Park is approximately 950 square miles of rolling hills and meadows at approximately 10,000 feet altitude.This region was
a favorite trapping and wintering spot during the fur trade era. Stacker (Will Crago) 719-836-9171;
Hoss (Greg Milligan) 303-507-4197; Crazy Beaver (Pat Pocius) 719-836-2698 Early setup is August 11th at 10am; Public Welcome!
Camp fee - generous donations only Primitive or modern. Mothin extra for traders, donations greatly appreciated for prizes; Non-
potable water will be provided and port-o-lets; Firewood is available on site. You must cut it yourself - down and dead only!
Location - South of Como Take County Rd. 15 South 6.4 miles (bear right at the fire station) and turn left on Antler Ridge Rd.
Stay on Antler Ridge until it becomes Shoshone Rd. Entrance on right. Follow the signs. Must be in primitive clothing to compete
in any and all events. Prizes at camp meeting on Saturday. Black powder shoots must shoot pre-1840 style muzzleloaders.
Primitive Bow Shoot - Knife and Hawk Throw - Check the chalk board for information. Woman's Frying Pan Toss - when it works best.
Kids Games - when they work best. Be prepared to feed yourself! Family Camp area in modern camp and no rowdy behavior in family
camp at night. After 6pm each day everyone must be in primitive clothing to remain in primitive camp. There will probably be rowdy
behavior in primitive camp at night. You bring it in, you pack it out! This is private property - respect it! A fire ban is possible
so be prepared to cook on propane. Site courtesy of the JBGardneRanch and AMANDA WOODBURY! Our site is owned by the JBGardneRanch
and is donated to us for this event by Amanda Woodbury. Without Amanda Woodbury and the JBGardneRanch our rendezvous would not be
