Hey friends. I've been doing some major fire mitigation for a disabled couple in my neighborhood. I have been piling up a TON of slash from their property. I've pretty much been spending all of my days off helping them out. Their insurance company is on their butts to thin their property - and they are not able to do it on their own, and cannot afford to have a pro come and do it for them. So I'm doing it for fresh baked cookies and beer :) Does anyone know how I can help them get rid of all of this slash? I've seen the slash drop off schedule on the Jeffco website. This is significantly more slash than than a truck or trailer load. I could probably load my large trailer 3-5 times with the slash that I have created. I can't afford 20 bucks a truck load. Neither can they. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Good for you Cash Larue! If you are in Elk Creek, Inter Canyon or North Fork Fire District, they are offering free
chipping at your property. This link is to the sign up for that program. Thank you for being such a good neighbor!

Thanks, Sundancer! That's exactly what I was looking for. We are in Elk Creek Fire's district. Signing up now!

They are way behind because of active fire fighting season. You may want to email the head of the chipping program and ask if they are still doing this for this year. I'll PM you his contact information

There are many local companies who do chipping - Always Chipper and Get It Done, just to name a couple. I wonder if you contact them if they would be willing to donate their services to help this couple. How awesome that you're helping them out!

Thanks MIRSH! I’ve been in contact with ECF. They are backed up as Angela said. I may get in touch with those other companies you recommended and see what they can do. Great idea!
