My brother had raccoons invade his attic in Lakewood. He used a couple of radios on a rock n roll channel turned up pretty loud and after about 24 hours they left for good. This was after trying everything else.

Besides ripped up insulation, there is feces, more chewed up siding and new holes to contend with. Also, after a while there is a smell that you can't get rid of.

Rock and roll station?

It's still quiet up there. We will have someone come out and close it up. It requires building up a level place to put an extension ladder on and then get up. I don't want hubby to do that, though he does have a grandson... Haha!

please check it for babies or animals BEFORE you close it up. You may trap someone and kill them unintentionally

Right. I was planning on going in after cold temperatures before breeding season.

This is NOT true! We are not required to put any animal down except skunks. We have a very serious problem with rabies in skunks right now and the State is trying everything they can to get it stopped.
However there are no other restrictions on any other animal right now due to rabies or anything else. There are a couple other local companies that do euthanize other animals, but they are not required to. I relocate every animal that I legally can, always.

That's a relief to know. We rarely hear ours anymore. Just once in awhile, probably gathering nesting materials.

That hole is a ticking bomb, though. It's going to be tricky to fix.

Thanks for weighing in Wildlife Services.

Thanks to one of your postings I have a recovered, beautiful and full- coated fox. She came to my house shivering, itching and with very little coat left. She hung out here until she was well and now is back to hunting on her own and not coming right to my door anymore in broad daylight. Can't express how happy I was to have helped her. Thank you!

Once every week or two, he's back and it does sound like he's collection housing materials. Not living there. Yay!

:) You should have Dean come over and find out where they are getting in and seal it up after making sure there is no nest in there with little ones.

There is a hole, but getting to it to patch will be tricky. It is only accessible by a 24+ foot ladder standing on land that drops about 8" between the legs. At this point, we are thinking about late summer after any babies would be out and before it turns cold. I rarely hear anything very often, anymore. I think it was just collecting nesting material. We will still fix the hole regardless.
