Joseph Barnett Cottage - 1907

Going through my photos today and came across this 1907 photo of what appears to be Joseph Barnett on the front porch of his "cottage". I am familiar with his cabin but the "cottage" has me a bit confused. Anyone recognize this structure of or have any information on his "cottage"?

Interesting spelling of the town name: Baileys (note the "S" at the end). I wonder if that was a common spelling...

It is my understanding that the original name was "Baileys" after the William Bailey, original settler. Following is an excerpt from the book "Life and times of Elizabeth Entriken and Joseph Barnett" which is a reprint of a 1919 Denver Post article.

The place was originally known as "Bailey's Ranch" before it became a town and consisted only of William Bailey's place.

I am only the messenger of the research of many others who strive to preserve the heritage of Park County. Any and all credit goes to them.

Is the Rev. Dyer mentioned the Rev. Dyer of Mosquito Pass fame?

One in the same. You may also be interested in knowing that Father Dyer's church/cabin is located in South Park City. This year, we hope to open the second floor where he lived above the chapel . But, as with many things, funding is always an issue.
