Here is another photo from the 30s. Main Street appears to be in better shape than it is today, albeit dirt.

I suspect you are right. However, in the 30s is was "Bailey Annual FREE Bar B Q". Perhaps something we should bring back. :-)

Here is an interesting map. An 1873 BLM Plat that shows only two homes - William Bailey and Charles Nickerson. I do not know where the Nickerson homestead was but it would be interesting to find out. The Nickerson home is at the top of the map on what was call the "Old Road".
