Joseph Barnett Cottage - 1907
Going through my photos today and came across this 1907 photo of what appears to be Joseph Barnett on the front porch of his "cottage". I am familiar with his cabin but the "cottage" has me a bit confused. Anyone recognize this structure of or have any information on his "cottage"? ![]() _________________ http://www.ParkCoArchives.org - Park County Local History Archives. http://www.ParkCountyHistory.com - Park County Historical Society http://www.SouthParkCity.org - South Park Historical Foundation - South Park City |

It is my understanding that the original name was "Baileys" after the William Bailey, original settler. Following is an excerpt from the book "Life and times of Elizabeth Entriken and Joseph Barnett" which is a reprint of a 1919 Denver Post article.

This year, we hope to open the second floor where he lived above the chapel . But, as with many things, funding is always an issue. ![]() _________________ http://www.ParkCoArchives.org - Park County Local History Archives. http://www.ParkCountyHistory.com - Park County Historical Society http://www.SouthParkCity.org - South Park Historical Foundation - South Park City |
