I have seen this postcard before, but not the description on the back. Interesting marketing.
Also, I am not familiar with the name J A Yockey. Anyone know?

Pretty neat, Jim. I loved reading how they offer electric and hot & cold running water. Boy, what we take for granted now a days :)

I did a search on J. A. Yockey and Glenisle and the only thing I could find is there must have been a Yockey sawmill back then, but nothing definite to show these are the same people.

I found it in the 'RESULTS OF SPIRIT LEVELING IN COLORADO
1896 TO 1914, INCLUSIVE' - page 47. Not much info, but maybe it would make more sense to you, beyond my knowledge.

Interesting document, albeit a little dry. :-)

I could not find anything on Yockey either. However, there are several references to Glenisle in the Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection, including this article:

"Coroner Charles Wells and County Attorney OMailia were called to Glenisle Wednesday to investigate the death, of Violet Bennett, a little four year old girl, who was drowned in the fountain at the Glenisle hotel . The little girl was the only child of Mr . and Mrs . Frank Bennett , who are working at Glenisle . The drowning was purely accidental and it was found , unnecessary to hold an inquest."

I had not been to the newspaper collection for a while. It has improved since the last time I was there.

That is interesting and the site you share is great. I just did some searches and found ja yockey, but nothing to relate him to Glenisle, very cool, thanks Jim for sharing.

Yes, the historic newspaper site is great.....however, if not careful, it will consume much of you day......and more. :-) I love it! That said, some say that newspaper accounts can't be trusted. :-)
