The links seem to be broken. Are there any specific photos you would like to see? I could repost them.

John Dower was the head of the Colorado Milling and Elevator company, and was a strong support of the Catholic church. I know this as my father was the chief chemist for CM&E and was instrumental in perfecting Hungarian High Altitude baking flour. Mr. Dower was a wonderful, charitable man who strongly believed in taking good care of the people who worked for him and as a result, we lived a relatively easy life throughout the Great Depression. As a small child, I remember the fantastic company picnics and other events that were held at Santa Maria.

Mr. Dower was the son-in-law of J.K. Mullen, who founded CM&E. Mr. Mullen and his daughters also had those same characteristics. I'm a little too young to have known Mr. and Mrs. Dower, but my grandparents and dad knew them well. I'm glad to know you have such fond memories of Santa Maria.
