Went by the China Village the other day and there is a notice on the door stating that it will be closed for the month of July until further notice. Does anyone know what's going on and when it will be open again? Thanks!

Not sure, we were also wondering. We didn't see the notice, but had heard that the restaurant and apartments next to it were for sale.

Owner told me before it closed that the new buyer would also have it a Chinese food restaurant. Was a while ago, so hope proves true.

I think the owners of Derrick Thai in Pine Junction own that too. She told me that a while ago.

I stopped by China Village tonight with my grandkids for dinner. They had just opened today. The place has been fixed up inside... cloth tablecloths under glass, fabric covered chairs... it looks really nice. Our waitress was VERY friendly and attentive. Similar menu as the old place, except with lunch you get a choice of TWO sides... egg roll, cheese wonton or wonton soup. I had The Happy Family, while the grandkids just had egg rolls and crab cheese wontons (plus egg drop and wonton soup). My meal was delicious, nice sized shrimp and the beef was tender. The egg rolls were fried perfectly. It was a GREAT experience and we'll definitely be back. I wish them the best of luck! They are nice people....
