5281 in the strip mall next to Home Depot, Quincy & c470. I think the most expensive porterhouse is $22 which includes salad, vegetable and potato.

Went to Blackhat once, won't go back! Went to the Keg Thursday night and it was excellent from food to service!

We had dinner for our anniversary at the Black Hat on Friday night and it was excellent. I've been to Del Frisco's in Denver a number of times for work lunches and dinners and the Black Hat was much better and much better prices.

I second this nomination (though I still haven't been to Black Hat). I hadn't been to 5281 in the year and a half that they've been open, but I'll be back soon! We opted to sit at the bar, and both bartenders and the owner made sure we had everything we need. When my dining partner ordered his porterhouse rare, they clarified whether he wanted "blue rare," which he did, and it came out perfectly. I think the side dishes could use a little sprucing up, flare, and/or variety, but if the ones they have help keep prices down then they're doing well.

I see recommendations for Fort and Black Hat and Keg. I went to black hat web site and there are not prices listed, usually means "expensive".

I see everyone says Fort is expensive so say, $$$ (like a yelp review)

how do you rate Black Hat & Keg from there. Does anyone have examples of prices. What someone says is reasonable is not in someone else's budget. I want to take my husband somewhere nice for fathers day, but not sure if it is in my price range

A typical "expensive" dinner for two will run $150-200. That includes an appetizer or salad, a drink or two, the main course, and tip. All 3 of these places fit the bill. Heh heh.

Depending on your bar tab, it could go quite a bit higher especially if ordering a bottle of wine.

We had an overnight in Denver Monday for early medical Tuesday morning. I remembered the post about this place and that's where we stopped for supper. Man, was that a great experience. 5281 is not fancy or elegant but it is clean and friendly and efficient. And the beef is first rate!! I had a beautiful filet, about 8 ounces which is plenty for me. It was thick, juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. Came with two sides. I had salad and a loaded baked potato. It was so good I can barely wait to return.

BGR had a huge steak and shrimp salad with a Vidalia onion vinaigrette that was just amazing. It was topped with a sliced NY strip and a pile of giant perfectly-cooked shrimp. 14 bucks!

The menu is creative and interesting. The burgers and sandwiches I saw come out of the kitchen made me salivate.
They have a decent wine list and on Monday, all of their top shelf wines were $3 a glass. Really! Good beer selection.

5281 is open for lunch with a full menu and is on your way in and out of the city. We expect good food and service and couldn't be happier with 5281.
Mrs. BGR

If you like green chili that is "bolder" than most, 5281's is so good that they sell it by the jar for take home.

I hesitate to use the word "hot" but it is flavor full leaning towards spicy hot

We talked to the server about the green chili. She checked and it is gluten free! Made with cornstarch rather than flour. That will be my first lunch order at 5281. Maybe a green chili cheese burger without the bun! Looking forward to that!

We went to The Black Hat last weekend and we have NEVER tasted a better ribeye in our lives. The "drumstick" . It's dry rubbed and absolutely fabulous. We've tried all the others and if you're celebrating something, this is the place to go. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Oh my YES!
