There are two recipes in the Pinecam Cookbook.
Corned Beef and Potatoes (by brisket, Charm means an already corned beef brisket) Homemade Irish Corned Beef (make your own corned beef) I wish I had seen the last recipe earlier, I would have tried making my own corned beef this year. |

It is the sodium nitrate and nitrite used in the curing process that turns the meat red/pink not dye

Did anyone partake in any corned beef and cabbage dishes this weekend? If so, where and how was it?

We went to Chads off 6th and union, almost to alameda. Was very good corn beef and cabbage. Was going to local resteraunt, but needed to head down mountain for errands.
I too would like to hear other experiences |

Yes I did, TillerBee. And I usually like the ‘flat” brisket rather than the point brisket. And I agree that making your own brisket looks delish. I used to use my crockpot constantly, but I’m finding I love my instapot more and more... _________________ Proudly supporting those in our armed forces: "Keep your heads down and your spirits high..." and the woundedwarriorproject.org "The greatest casualty is being forgotten..." |

I have made that Homemade Irish Corned Beef two times with the flat brisket and both times it came out delicious.
