We wanted to give a family dinner gift certificate to some friends who go to Breckenridge occasionally. We don't know most places in Breckenridge- appreciate any suggestions.

That's a pretty open ended question. How many people? How much do you want to spend? What do they like or NOT like?

Can't really say its a suggestion, but the newest place in Fairplay is called the Hungry Miner, it is located in the old Pizza Hut building. Haven't tried it, have no idea if its good.

South Park Brewing is another place that might be good, i have heard mixed reviews on it.

Also, sorry, but I have no idea if either offers gift certs.

Well, this post wasn't really all that helpful!

Without additional info I'll just throw out a few names. There's a lot to choose from so I only have what I've tried in the past couple years.

Fatty's Pizza. Probably the BEST pies in Breck. They also have your usual assortment of sandwiches and pasta dishes. Highly recommended.

The Canteen. Pretty fun place. Mostly burgers and sandwiches, but it won't break the bank.

Empire Burger. The name says it all. Casual place. Good burgers.

Blue River Bistro. As someone mentioned, very good. Dinner can be pricey as in over $100 per couple. Lunch more reasonable, but not cheap. You can basically order the lunch menu items for dinner as well.

Blue Moose. A classic Breck establishment. I believe its cash only. I think its a bit overrated, but lots of people enjoy it. Breakfast and brunch only.

Breckenridge Brewery. Need I say more?

Mi Casa. Mexican. Some unique offerings along with the usual Mexican fair. Tacos were excellent, but a bit pricey. You an easily drop $100 for two at this place, but you can also keep it in the moderate range.

A comment on Eric's (Downstairs at Eric's). It ain't all that. If you have kids its a fantastic option because of the arcade. But the place can be wildly busy, loud, and service spotty. Its essentially a sports bar with sports bar food and lots of kids running around. Good, not great. A "fun" place. Not for everyone, but priced right. An excellent option for drinks and food with the family or groups. That's about all I have at hand. Enjoy!
