Just a general comment...in my opinion...
1st, I am glad there is now a category on Pinecam for "Dining Room/Places to Eat" and prior, posts from PCers about restaurants. Have taken advice from the posts to try new things.
2nd, if the owner / manager comes by, tell them what you like (or dont').
3rd, if asked for advice (or not), tell them not to change what you like. If they have to raise the price to keep the customers coming for the good parts, that is understandable.
In my opinion, the worst is to take out of town visitors (or even yourself) to a place you have been bragging on only to find that food or service has changed for the worse! (Inconsistent food or service is not understandable, IMO.)

re Will o the Wisp...I can't answer that question other than to repeat rumors I've heard which I'm not sure are true.

However.....I did want to post about the Gypsy Diner at the top of Crow Hill (where Beth's used to be - you can see the beautiful white and turquoise school bus that the owners converted into a kitchen!). We have been there a few times and every time the food has been great....if you haven't tried them yet, you should. The fish tacos are really delicious, and it's a lot of food for the price - very fresh ingredients. I also love the breakfast burritos and the baked goods (especially the scones)! Yummy! You can either do drive up or eat in (they've done a very nice job inside - a nice comfy place to hang out with friends for coffee, etc). And the service is great. Check them out.

Reggie sold out and after a short time, year or so , the place caught fire and has never reopened as a restaurant/bar since...set for years before they remodeled it and has not been more than the auction house as far as I know...to bad, used to be a fun place...

I seem to remember there were access issues, water issues, septic issues...
When the hot dog was moving from Conifer to Bailey, I saw an article that said they considered the old Reggie's place but there were too many issues to deal with.

All that is based on my memory so I wouldn't consider it 100% accurate.

I remember when Nolan Maddox ran the W O W back in the mid '70s, was more of a hippie hangout back then. Michael Murphy played there one New Years Eve. Back in the day.

I enjoy my wine or cocktail BEFORE my meal. That is a bit different from others. I guess it relaxes me.

Ah W O W. the last time I was there, I ran into one of my daughter's teachers smoking dope in the bathroom. THAT was awkward...

Denver is not known to be a great food town. In National magazine for great food, I rarely see anything in Denver. So many restaurants start out so great, then start sliding. River Bend is advertising employment for cooks, servers. Maybe it is no one wants to work!!! I think most restaurants are short handed.
For up here, Crossroads for a fast dinner rarely dissappoints. A dining experience it is not. Love the Reubens and fish and chips.
