Hello Pinecammers.
One of the local horse farms have hit upon bad timing and tough times.
Please consider checking out a GoFundMe set up by one off their students.
http://gf.me/u/gd3478

I take lessons and clean stalls a couple days a week, and the horses are great.
The people aren't bad either!

Thanks for your time.

The student's gofundme write up:

<<snip>>
This non profit organization is located in Pine, CO. Recently they have had a rough go of things financially. Centaur Rising has been a home to me and many other people/horses over the course of 25 years. Kris Cooper, the owner of Centaur Rising is trying very hard to make ends meet.

This is past week their truck broke down and needs a new clutch which is $2,000+. This truck is essential to get hay and bedding to these horses so they can survive and live comfortably. Then today (January 25,2018) their main SUV broke down with no diagnosis or cost yet but the tow truck alone was a lot of money for them.

Over the the past couple of months Kris, her husband Jim, and their son Doug have been riddled with illnesses and unable to teach lessons to riders which is their main source of income and keeping the horses fed.

The business and the horses are everything to them and to every one who knows them. We would be heart broken if we had to give the horses away for free (this would most likely be a death sentence) and sell the ranch. I basically grew up on the ranch and have learned how to train horses and teach students. It is my second home.

I ask for $6,000.00 to pay for the truck repairs, car repairs, and to help catch them up on other bills they may need desperately paid. Please help these wonderful people keep their livelihood and keep the horses safe, warm, and fed.

“Centaur Rising seeks to restore Man’s connection with Nature through the teaching of classical horsemanship; thus instilling, confidence, communication, commitment and compassion for all living things.”

Why is this no longer on the home page?

It IS on the homepage. The software moves posts down as more posts are made until they move off the page. It's just how the software works. Because you posted, it moved it back onto the homepage.

And now that I posted, it has moved it to the top of the homepage - so it is nothing that Pinecam moderators, administrators are doing, etc - it's just how the software works.

All the topics from the Mountain Concerns category are sorted by last post date and the 15 topics with the latest dates, sorted by their respective forum, are put on the homepage. So that's why initially this topic was near the bottom of the Homepage forum list and now is at the top.

When 15 other Mountain Concern topics have later dates this my post here, this topic won't show on homepage. Until then, it will. Unless someone else adds a reply here, of course.

There has been a very nice response so far. Let's keep the word going outward. Thanks in advance.
