Brand inspector Holly Golen had this little guy picked up from Domerock and he is at my place for now waiting for someone to claim him. If you are missing a mini donkey please contact Holly at 720 545 4604. He is a sweet little guy and someone must be missing him

I find it odd no one has reported this guy missing with the sheriff, animal control or the brand inspection office. Sad. He is great with humans and dogs, but aggressive to other equines. He will be property of the brand board after the 29th of this month at which time he should go to auction. I will not let that happen, but cannot keep him here long term. I thought I could put him in with a few geldings, but he is aggressive toward them and will get his butt kicked. I have him in a temporary pen for now. I will take the responsibility of having him gelded and hopefully the removal of the aggressive brain will temper him some but he will need something better for a few months until the testosterone goes down. Hopefully there will be room at either Longhopes or Harmony, but if not I will be looking for a home for this guy. Maybe someone with a large dog, which he gets along fine with, some cows who need a buddy or just a human who would like a donkey in the back yard. He is good with his feet, leads, and loves scratches. I also sat on him and put my weight on him and he didn't mind a bit so likely would pack or let kids ride. I would be fine taking him back here to find something else if a trial does not work.

Ingrid, post on Facebook. Lots of pages now for Lost and Found Animals due to fires. People 'share' pages and maybe someone will know who he belongs to. Also Netposse.

Found by Dome Rock in Teller County? Maybe a refugee from the fire by Great Gorge?

Possibly the same one that was escaping. He was brought here before the lime gulch fire. My neighbor thinks he has known him from a yard on Richmond hill and I have called this person with a number provided to me by someone else. I explained on the answering machine that if this person I called is the owner and no longer wants him to please at the very least let the brand inspection office know so we can go forward and have him gelded. Abandoning an equine only gets them to auction so the brand board can recoup their expenses. Who knows where he would end up and it's not a fair thing to do to any animal. Right now I can't give him the space or companionship he needs because he has been left as a stud and is aggressive, but only to other equines. Hopefully his brain will be better once we can go forward and do the right thing for him.

Hello, I have been following this post since it started, and could not remember my password to log in to reply! I am very interested in adopting the little donkey. I have a pasture with cows and yaks, and the fence is such that he could not get out. I did call Holly, the brand inspector, and she says that he must go to auction, according to their laws. The only way around it is to come up with at least three bids, and I don't know how that works. If only the owner would come forward, I could buy him directly from them.

Please call me tomorrow. 303 868 4490. I will be one of the bidders and I will find another. If I get him or the other person gets him I will make sure he is yours. I will be in and out of cell range all day so if I don't answer leave me a message with your number. My phone no longer shows my call history. Long Hopes will help with gelding him. I will contribute as well. He deserves better than going to auction.

Oh thank you! I have to go get hay in the morning, so I'll call when I get back, around noon.
