Ugh!! The pine beetles are out!! If it helps any (which I totally doubt) there are 2 less of them in the world.

I also saw a lone butterfly yesterday. I thought "you poor thing, no nectar anywhere up here for you." So I immediately put out a plate with sugar water, 9 parts water:1 part dissolved sugar and small gravel in the plate, for it to alight on, in case it came back.

Thank you for the idea Calypso4ever. I love butterflies. I'll keep that recipe in mind should I see any butterflies. Hmmm, now have to buy sugar, lol.

Thanks for the recipe, I have my sugar ready for the hummingbirds but will keep this in mind - saw a couple of butterflies on Sunday.
