Had a beautiful bear walk thru our property around 7:30 this morning, off of Miners and Park Way. Maybe they will think about hibernation soon now that the snow has finally arrived and the colder weather. Such a sight in the snow and the sun and blue sky! Wonderful

Living with them over the years, I have really come to understand and value bears so much. We have seen NONE this year with the exception of a yearling that was mostly kicked to the curb by mom with new cubs a couple of times this spring.

My husband and I saw him again, back of the property. He was eating something, then turned and headed down the hill. We put on our boots and went and looked, he had dug a huge whole in the ground and it looks like he was tearing out roots and eating them!

Good! Thats how they are supposed to forage. As opposed to waiting at the end of a driveway for people to put out the trash on pick up day. Or climbing deck railings to eat the cat food and empty the bird feeders. Or peeling the doors off cars for the old cold french fries from Wendys....
