Having photographed the Steller to death, I am now concentrating on the Norther Flicker. Unfortunately, they are a lot more timid than Steller's, so this will require a bit more patience.

Very nice! Flickers are pretty birds until they spread their wings. Then, it's a jaw-dropping experience! :D

We have a mature female (I assume) and a juvenile Flicker feeding, drinking here
several times a day right now. We have always had them occasionally, but these
are the first regulars. I always stop and watch when they arrive.

I love the Northern Flickers. They seem to leave December thru February; otherwise, I have them year round. I also have a juvenile who does not like getting wet when the other birds splash in the bird bath. :coffee screen:
