Thank you for saying what I most sincerely believe. I have agonized over this dear old lady-dog's bewilderment and pray the future doesn't hold even more of it before she can rest at the rainbow bridge.

Chinook, I totally get it. Shes going to be moved around a bit more, thats for sure. But from the kennel's isolation and all the sights and sounds and smells of other stressed dogs, that is in itself a vast improvement. Into a home environment to decompress and now other people willing to try, we'll see how she does. I will check in with Roni over the coming days and weeks and update this post.

I was wondering if being in a home with two other, very active dogs would be more stressful than where she was at. I really wanted her. I am just so relieved she is out now!!

My understanding is they (the rescue) tried several times over the course of Sadie's time with them, to see how she did with other dogs and it was determined that its not what worked with Sadie.
People had suggested 'they' work with her on it. I'm inclined to believe that these people are very experienced in dog interactions and behavior and IF there had been even a glimmer of a good dog to dog relationship they would have built on it.

Right, she would have a new environment, new people plus two dogs to cope with. Too much, especially for a scared senior. She is beautiful, isn't she?

Thank you, Jo, for keeping us informed on this old pooch.
I think she worked her way into many hearts as her story played out.
If concern and good wishes could improve the situation, then this
old girl has got it made.

Well apparently from your lips to God's ear. Sadie has a place for the remainder of her days. I just want to curl up there beside her.
BTW, the amazing person who boarded her own dogs to give Sadie a repreive from the kennel was Angela, the person who got the info out about Sadie's plight and is mentioned in the OP. She found the home where Sadie is now. I will sleep better tonight because this is where Sadie gets to lay her head from now on.

Tears in my eyes as I viewed that picture. And so much gratitude to the angel who has given Sadie a place to rest her head and her heart.    :dog:

Thank you so much for saving her. I have looked at that picture of her peacefully sleeping more than once, because it is a relief to see her that way. So kind of you to help her.
