I've only seen ones from California - don't know what happened either.

There's a smaller crop of Colorado/Palisade peaches available this year due to extreme weather. King Soopers had them last week, not sure if they still do. Farmer's markets would be your best bet.

I got a wonderful box of peaches from Palasades. And Heinie's has them this week also. I canned some and ate some. They were NOT free stone. So, difficult to can. Grilled whole wheat pizza last night with proshuto, basil pesto, blue and provolone cheeses, PEACHES and a little balzamic vinegar when it was done. Yum, yum!!

Cliffdweller, you can get them at the Evergreen Farmer's Market at Bergen Village from 10-2 on Tuesdays. The crowds have gotten pretty terrible but there is a fellow from Palisade who has been at this market for many years and has great peaches, apricots and cherries. Got some of each this past Tuesday.

I think with the closure of the downtown Evergreen Farmer's Market and the one in Conifer (never that great) everyone is flocking to this one. So go early !

I guess I will hit up a farmers market. Usually,I get a postcard from the Conifer Chamber and buy them that way.

I saw some Palisade Peaches yesterday at the JP Total Farmers Market on Bear Creek Rd (I think? The one where they have the pumpkin patch in the fall.)

I saw that they had a bad growing season between cooler later spring and wetter summer.

They have them down at the Whole Foods on Hampden and Tamarac - bought a few and they are very good:) I stop at that Whole Foods on my way to work at Lowry. Yuppiness and all whole paycheck comments aside, it's a nice store with great people who work there.

If you would like a large amount, I am in palisade about three times a week. You would have to meet me somewhere to pick them up from me though.
