Thanks aspenleaf for this thread.

I was at home getting ready for work in the office. When I walked past the living room I saw the TV, which is rarely on in the morning. I called my neighbor who had no TV's by choice and we watched for an hour or more before I had to go to work to a job close to the house. Spent a couple hours at that customers house then returned home and watched TV the rest of the day, and more.

I was in Iceland,on a farm, way up in the Arctic Circle region. Our farmer hauled an ancient TV down from his attic and tuned it in. Couldn't believe what we were seeing. I left the USA in normalcy returned to chaos. Asked for a glass of wine on the returning flight to the States only to be told by the flight attendant "We have wine but they have taken away our corkscrews to open the bottles." I also noted the switch from metal knives to plastic ones for our meal....things have never been the same since. Sadly, my birthday is two days before the bombing of the twin towers. An association that will always stay with me. Oddly enough I was born only days after Britain entered the second world war with Germany in September 1939.

I was working from my home here in Colorado on a problem with the NY office (luckily was in mid manhatten) when all of a sudden they said that a plane just flew into the World Trade Center. I thought they were joking until I realized they weren't. We all hung up and I ran to the TV and put on any channel. We sat there in disbelief as we watched the second plane hit. The rest of the day was just surreal.

I had a heart cath on Monday and was in my room at Swedish waiting for my cardiologist to release me. He arrived moments before the second plane hit. I drove home and spent the rest of the day watching the coverage.

The following New Year's Eve I flew to NYC and went to Times Square for the ball drop. Sort of what you might call a New York wave hello to all terrorists.

I had just gotten to work at the City of Lakewood, CO when one of my co-workers came in and told me about it. I thought it was a joke until we rigged up a TV in time to see the second tower go. Horrible day.

Was at the Hotel Coronado for a large team meeting. Our company had arranged for us to work out with Navy SEALS that morning. Those of us who wanted were waiting on the beach. No one showed. About 15 minutes later someone from the hotel said the event was canceled and we should go turn on the TV. Shortly after that we saw all kinds of ships heading out from the harbor.
