We usually strap on our beads and go to the
parade in Breckenridge on Fat Tuesday.
Not happening this year though... :O(

Geez, I am an old stick-in-the-mud. I've never celebrated Mardi Gras. Never thought about it, I guess. 8O

Having lived in Louisiana in my youth, I always celebrate it. Used to be a lot of fun in Bailey ---- when a certain restaurant was there. "Laissez les bons temps rouler !!"

I really miss the Grill. :(

I think I will listen to my song.

It's a wonderfully delirious holiday! Food, sex, drugs and jazz! What's not to love!

But I can no longer tolerate the chaos and debauchery of a multi-day, crazy party scene anymore. But back in my youth it was always the best party of the year.

Now I just want a vicarious taste of it through others.

I also grew up in Louisiana and spent a few Mardi Gras in New Orleans with my parents but they were more of the religious types but the parades were fun and the beads.............and candy thrown from the floats were so much fun! When I was more toddler age, some of the costumes scared me! LOL

Oh, yes, I soooo miss The Grill!

I went to New Orleans to celebrate Marti Gras one year in the late 80s, the only time I have ever celebrated Marti Gras. We had a blast! It is... well, hard to explain.

I did it once, but no longer have an interest, or the energy, to do it again.

And, I too really miss the Grill. :(
