I was shopping at the Conifer KS yesterday in the last aisle by the Pharmacy (far west wall) when I heard this loud CRASH!! I was between a tall, rolling display case and the wall. A woman driving a sit down cart had lost control and crashed into the display case. She probably didn't see me behind the rolling display case, but I don't think it would have mattered. I ducked to the side and the case grazed my head, but didn't tip over-maybe the wall caught it. I did let KS know I thought these rolling display cases are a safety concern. Maybe wear your hardhat when you shop! :yikes:

It's good to know you can move that fast when you have to! :)
Seriously, I am glad you and the lady in the cart were OK. they do tend to pack as much as possible in there. I would think those drive around carts would be hard to navigate in many areas.

I hope it wasn't my mom....she has crashed into various items that KS display in the isles. It is both embarrassing and infurating that it is so difficult sometimes. Oh, and driving those things, is hard! (For me)

Over and over I have to keep sending in suggestions to the store when this type of incident happens to PLEASE STOP CLOGGING THE AISLES WITH DISPLAYS! I'm constantly subtlety pushing them back against the side. Okay - rant over...

Usually those displays/floor stacks are supposed to be toward the side of the aisle anyway.

Believe me, it's not just King Sooper. Safeway has been infected by this behavior as well, and I suspect you'll find it everywhere. it is all part of marketing to the consumer. Why else would both stores almost completely re-arrange their shelves in the past three years? It all comes down to trying to maximize the average consumer transaction.

Even walking with a cart is difficult getting around the aisle displays. I know it must be very difficult for people in riding carts. I thought the accelerator may have gotten stuck on the riding cart of the woman who hit the display case, so now I'm wondering how safe these carts are. I know it gives many people a sense of independence. I hope the grocery stores maintain these carts well.

I wondering if the ADA act comes into effect when wheelchairs can not safely navigate the aisles? KS is not the only store up here with obstacles in the aisles.

After the rearrangement, there are several items I wanted to buy, but gave up and did not. It just was not worth looking any more than I did. For me it has the opposite result.

You should be more worried about the produce being sprayed
