Not I, wasn't born yet, but out out of my own curiosity, if you have the time, could you provide information from your perspective? I love reading about old storms.

I watched a documentary along with articles just looking them up on internet . I love history and the freak weather event that caused the storm . I thought maybe some one might have a life story , or wxgeek might have more info on the weather event .

Back in 49 we were driving from California to Nebraska and got caught in the blizzard in Wyoming. We had a Studebaker and I remember a black wall in front of us and the wind, it was awful. My mother had a flashlight and had to walk to the side of the car so my dad could see the edge of the road; I remember my grandmother being really, freaking upset in the back seat. My dad decided it would be better to go across the land instead of staying on the road and we finally made it to Cheyenne. The snow was up to the second floor of the hotel we stayed at and we discovered later the people who stayed on the road didn't make it. I remember people being just amazed at how much snow there was and how many people got caught in that blizzard.

whoa... I just read this out loud to my husband, when I got to the part about going across the land, I stopped and looked at him and said, he must have just taken off across a field instead of the road. wow wow wow

That was one freaky bizarre storm , I need to research how many years prior to 49 , if any other storms compared.
