OK so we had a Happy dog that came by everyday to play with ours. Fun Fun Fun. she was a puppy, mix but in all a great dog to be.
We only have 1 set of neighbors that in their elder years (meds we think) are a little off.
Well today we come home and the owner of the sweety calls to say she was shot, in the hospital and not doing good. She passed.
This dog played with ours dailey, came in our house and was very obedient.
So what was the reason for 2 dementiaed peeps to harm this sweet creature.

I will give the address of the perp to those interested in keeping their loved pets alive that may occasionally go on a day trip.
Yeah Yeah the owner is resopnsible blah blah we don't need to hear your [fecal matter] response. He knows he is at fault, but the real issue is the idiots that caused her death.

And PC has been notified and will be following up.

Would you shoot a dog in your yard just because they were there?

OK you can't comprehend the post.

DOG SHOT
CRAZY NEIGHBORS
And you condone that it is OK to shoot a dog in your yard. Regardless of the fact that it is just a pup and is just learning her area.

OK - It doesn't sound too complicated to me.
Elderly neighbors' sweet puppy shot by two perps.
What is so hard to understand about that?
So the police know who shot this dog? Were they charged or was it deemed appropriate in some way?

Don't make it sound like it is OK for dogs to run loose! Even if it didn't get shot in the end - it could have been killed on the road or killed by a animal! I for one AM SICK AND TIRED of stray dogs running onto my property and chasing my livestock and fighting my dog. I will catch the loose dog when able, and I WILL press charges - AND the Colorado law does state that a dog can be shot to defend livestock.
Not that I am saying its OK your neighbors dog was shot. But why didn't you catch it when it was loose? Why do you assume that your older neighbors have dementia? This whole story seems strange. But I think intentionally letting any dog roam the hood is dangerous for your dogs and your neighbors. I don't care how sweet it is.

hmm - I totally understand the original poster. Very sorry to hear this happened as it does not seem the dog was at all aggressive. But remember this is pinecam - so you'll get a lot of flack no matter what.

So the elderly couple owned the dog and someone shot it,or someone else owned the dog and the elderly couple shot it? That is my question.
Jupiter I agree with you,it's not good to intentionally let your dog roam.My husbands dog will bolt sometimes and it's embarrassing to me to see him running around, where my husband is like "Oh he will come back" I know the neighbors notify me and him but I am not always around so I look guilty as well.I will go hunt him down in the car if I am there, cause he won't come when he's called but if he sees you in a car he will hop in.
I have done the most training with this dog I try to maintain authority and respect with him but my husband thinks almost everything he does is just fine.Husband will get upset with me when I try to reprimand the dog or have him sit at the door and tell him when it's ok to go out the door (backyard that is) husband just lets the dog (most of the time to do what he pleases)
Which includes chasing the lawn mower, biting at the compressor, and chasing the vacuum. It makes it harder for me to train him when I tell the dog not to do these things while the husband finds it amusing.
Uuuuggggghhhhhh
This is the first dog he has had in the 12 years we have been together he has had cats before,I was the original dog owner in this relationship, then he decided he wanted one.Now I don't know what to do??

This one's a slam dunk. At the risk of being flippant - dump the husband - keep the dog! :dog:
