There will be a meeting with Commissioner Mike Brazell to discuss the painting of the cell tower near Harris Park. The current tower needs to be replaced, so this is an opportunity for interested community members to give input about painting the new tower.

When: June 21, 2016 6:30-7:30 pm
Where: Crow Hill Fire Station

This will be the only opportunity for public input on the new tower color, and a decision will need to be reached by the end of the meeting.

Hope to see everyone there!

I'm sure that painting the cell tower will improve its appearance but I'm a lot more concerned about having it actually work for everybody (or at least nearly everybody).

So, maybe the replacement is what will be required to make it function for everyone?

Why does the cell tower need to be replaced?

Will the owner of the tower be there to actually answer questions?
Or is this just a feel good gripe session sponsored by a local politician?

I disagree with only one provider on the cell tower. I have a tracphone and I can get service... but usually have to go to 43 still. And randomly can I get at house, if I to outside 1st then it will stay connected when I go in. I really don't use my cell often because of spotty service (that is why I have tracphone service)

Commissioner Mike Brazell was the meeting facilitator there to hear what people had to say. He did say that the current tower is defective. CommNet is working with the manufacturer to have it replaced. When the color of the tower was discussed, it was determined that the galvanized steel material naturally weathers to a dull off-white or gray that becomes less reflective. The question was raised if that process could be speeded up using a chemical process. Also discussed was using a neutral 18% gray as a paint color.

Gee, you mean that ugly, hideous thing we've all had to stare at for oh, what? Over a year now? Is defective? Who would've guessed. Color me 18% gray shocked.

I went to T-Mobile after the new tower went up in Harris Park because my Sprint (flip) cell phone no longer worked. So I went out and got a new Smart Phone from T-Mobile! I only use some basic features and have no need for all of the extra "bells & whistles"! And this new phone of mine has horrible reception! I figure that enough time has passed, the dust has settled and would like to know which cell carriers are now being actively serviced by the Harris Park Cell Tower. I am hoping that Sprint has come on board by now! Does anybody know? Thanks!

It is not serving Sprint or Verizon(have a Sprint and a Verizon phone and they both switch to roaming just off of 285) ATT is active-and I thought T-mobile was too as an inactive phone I have here shows bars.

I Have a "trac-phone" and just pay for minutes, no bells or whistles. I get service, but see on roaming.
