285 runs north and south so do you mean south of Shawnee?

285 is still designated as a north/south roadway.

When going through Shawnee if you have a Navigation system in the vehicle it shows you going west. I do know 285 is designated as north/South but Vanessa was technically correct saying it was west of Shawnee.

i love it! thx daisylover for bringing this up. i kno vanessa & bigfred are technically correct, as are those that live the area. but that's allays been a beef of mine wherever i go. comes from growing up in the midwest, where all things are n/s and e/w. so i stick to the official, regardless of the curves & slants & whatnot. stubborn german. ;-)

glad to hear of the driver & partner, and hope others weren't very impacted as well

The statement was that the accident was west of Shawnee, which indeed it was, geographically. The only point of asking for correction, it seems to me, is a pedantic one.

If it's the one that has been there since Thursday or so, it's between Shawnee and Grant, just before Santa Maria. Yes, the driver and passenger made it out alive.

I have been wondering why the confusion about whether the truck is west or south of Shawnee. There can't be that many dead semis laying on their sides out there. 8)

Reminds me of a call I heard on the scanner a few years back. Call was for a car that hit a tree at mile marker 216. The responding officer asked for a description of the car. I wondered if he found a blue car off the right side of the road and a white car off the left and didn't want to respond to the wrong call. :?

I think some folks are picking at nits.
