I remember when they showed up in Bailey with their lower than propane bs,I told them to take their monopoly and shove it!, they got a lot of people to switch all of their appliances to natural gas ,so they were stuck with them, and that price increase was most likely part of a pre-established rate hike set years ago ,part of their long term profit schedule.

I do think that overall it has been less expensive than propane, It's their pricing, compared to other natural gas suppliers that seems exuberant.
. At this moment is is just about comparable between the two but it SHOULD be a LOT cheaper as the price of the actual NG is MUCH cheaper - about 5 TIMES!

Today we got another notice from CNG that we are getting a one time "rebate" of about $72 from the cheaper taxes over the next 6 months. My question is why aren't we continuing to get that rebate next year when they still have the lower taxes? Also, turning the notice over to the other side they snuck in ANOTHER proposed price increase in addition to the one in this thread. Now they want to QUADRUPLE the DSM tax on our gas. This pays for the "free" services offered to advise people how to use less energy. This is another one where customers may file objections with the Public Utilities Commission at 1560 Broadway, Suite 250, Denver CO 80202. I already responded to the first one and I'm not holding my breath we'll have any luck with this one either. I haven't heard if any decisions were made for the first big rate hike which was supposed to take effect on June 15.

There will be a public hearing Mid to late August at the commission office in Denver. I will keep you posted. The fact that the judge ordered a hearing is good! Now we need to make sure we fill the meeting with people, and good research.I will keep you posted on the day and time.
Shame on JP Morgan for trying to squeezing the blood out of what use to be a good local company !

I just got my bill and so far the price increase has not taken affect. They say they are still negotiating with the PUC about the rate case. From now through December, we are getting a "tax rebate" bonus that will be more noticeable in the last few months. For this month it maybe took a dollar off my bill. If (actually when) the price increases, then you will be charged over $25 for NO gas!
