Please tell me you are not getting hail. I debated back and forth whether to try and cover my lettuce and didn't.

I learned about hail cloth this summer while volunteering at the MRC Pantry garden. Wish I knew about it 20+ years ago. I might have kept up with vegetable gardening. Back on the topic (sorry) it's raining, lightning, thundering and dark in Oehlmann Park. Wish it would keep raining!

It's just a light rain here in Shaffers Crossing, started about 3:00. I love this rain.

MIRSH, I would have to completely reconfigure my big vegi garden to use hail cloth. I'm thinking about doing that in a single bed each year (8 foot section with two 3.5 beds) but won't get to it this year.

I made canvas covers for my flower beds for these storms with hail potential

i can't post on the fire forum, so here's a huge shoutout to aspenleaf! you're giving us the best, up-to-date coverage from everywhere i hav access to. much appreciated!

and, like the firefighters (and fire) needed a tornado to add to their challenges?! geesh! they headed to gravel roads for safety? like, any ditches or tunnels in the area, really really close by? how scary is that??

Aww, gee, thanks, mtnhsmama! That feedback goes a long way. :D

Weston Pass is special to me because I love back roads passes, Weston is one of the closest ones to us, I destroyed a running board there, I'm terrified of forest fire and I love researching anything. It's a natural!

ETA: I also have an incredible amount of time on my hands.

The Spring Fire is officially 35% contained this morning due to overnight rainfall! The most that it has been contained since it started a week ago was 10% - we are sure happy to see this! :applause: :multi: :dancing:
