What is up with the rolling billboard (for lack of a better term) that is parked for the last week or so by the "Welcome to Conifer" sign at Myers ranch? Are we going to start to introduce this type of advertising on 285? Kind of an eyesore!

I think it's called advertising, and if they have permission from where they are parked, seem perfectly legal. I cannot blame a business for trying to get customers into their establishment. It is hard enough to run business up here, so I sympathize with them on how to promote your business.

The sign is probably illegal and should be reported to Jeffco zoning. A land-owner does NOT have the say on what kind of signs he/she can give permission for access. There are very well defined rules on what types of signs are allowed on private land as well as public right-of-way.

The sign is not permanently in the ground but mounted in a truck bed. As long as the truck is legally parked, Jeffco zoning would have no effect on the advertising.

How long can you park legally on the side of the road? I hope this isn't a trend. I like living in a place where there are NOT billboards all over the place, especially parked right where there is a gorgeous view of Jeffco Open Space.

is it advertising anything? It is most likely there to let folks know that 285 will be shut down on Sunday for "police work"
