First, is I70 still the best way Conifer to DIA or has road construction made that impossible? Second, inside DIA, anyone have experience using the electric carts to reach the gates? Thanks!

As far as travel to DIA, use an app like WAZE or Google Maps, as each day the best route depends on traffic, accidents and construction times. My usual route is still I-70 to Pena, but it depends on the day which route is best.

I often take 470 to the airport from. Yes, there is construction on 470 south of town. Yet, the speeds are higher on the toll road, a lot less traffice and I've yet to encounter any issues with traffic accidents on the toll road. Taking the toll road, I miss all the slow downs and accidents along I 70, at least on the way to the airport. If I know there is an accident when I am heading back home, then I take the toll road. It may be the longer route to the airport, but more than not it can be the quicker way; especially since major construction is starting on I-70. That will truly become a major headache. I'd rather take the toll road and not worry about missing my business flight.

I've used the mobility assistance carts several times. They're very efficient and get you through the queues quickly too :D

Thanks all for the input. ChampagneAbby, how do I arrange a ride on one of the carts? For a wheelchair I found I call my airline to reserve, but didn't find out how to request the cart.

A quick Google of "mobility carts dia" revealed the following:

Accessible Parking Options

Denver International Airport provides accessible parking spaces at all airport-owned parking facilities. In the East and West parking garages, these spaces are located next to entry doors into Jeppesen Terminal, on garage Levels 1, 2, 4 and 5 (no accessible parking is available on Level 3).

If using outlying parking options, such as economy or shuttle lots, accessible spaces are located near the pickup/dropoff shelters in the Economy West and Economy East parking lots, and at the Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert Shuttle lots. All vans and buses serving these lots are lift-equipped. Wheelchair or electric cart service is available from your airline. For more information call (303) 342-4650.

Wheelchairs

Your airline can provide you with wheelchair or electric cart service
Request a wheelchair from the airline in advance or at the ticket counter

I fly Denver to London regularly and I request "mobility assistance" when I book the ticket. Sometimes they provide a wheelchair, some times a cart.
