Here is to hoping they can hold containment lines today with southwest winds of 20-35 mph that will persist into Wednesday.

Any update on the fire?

I don't smell it today!!!! But that could be due to wind direction.

I didn't get a single drop of rain. :( But humidity is up out of the single digits again today!

I heard on the news where I was cleaning that it is still fifty percent contained but they expect full containment by tomorrow. :dancing:

A huge thanks to all the brave men and women of the multiple agencies involved in containing this fire as quickly and safely as possible. They were on-scene almost unbelievably fast, coordinating to limit the fire’s spread and get people out of Payne Gulch. Without them, this incident could have ended very differently. And, a shout out to the shooters responsible for the fire. Not, of course, for having caused it, but for having the decency and courage to own the situation they created. Again, there might have been a very different outcome had they turned tail and run.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

There is a big difference between containing a fire and putting it out.

And I’m grateful for every and all measures of progress to that end.

Agreed, Jo, 100$ containment is a huge event. But there is still likely to be a lot of smoke for a while yet.
