Lime Gulch Fire at 90 Percent Containment; Evacuation Orders Lifted

Conifer, Colo. – The Lime Gulch Fire is now 90 percent contained due to the hard work of firefighters and favorable weather conditions. The fire remains at 511 acres. Full containment is expected to occur by Sunday evening.

As of 9:00 p.m. Saturday, all evacuation orders for the Lime Gulch Fire were lifted. Local residents have been allowed to return home. Power to all affected residents is expected to be restored by 8:00 a.m. Sunday. Road closures will remain at three locations until further notice to assist firefighters that are still engaged in monitoring the fire. Only local residents who can show proper identification will be allowed through the following road closures:

Foxton Road will be open to residents only at Reynolds Park.
The SW Platte River Road will be open to residents only north of Buffalo Creek.
The W Platte River Road west of Two Forks will be open to residents only
Residents are cautioned to be aware of the emergency vehicles and equipment still in the area, and are asked to stay out of the burn area as firefighters will be continuing mop-up operations. As always, citizens are reminded to be ready to evacuate, should conditions change.

Reynolds Park will remain closed to the public until further notice.
Waterton Canyon will remain closed until further notice.

This is the final update for the Lime Gulch Fire from the Rocky Mountain Area Incident Management Team B. Command of the fire will transition back to the local unit on Monday at 6:00 a.m. A Type 3 organization will continue to monitor the Lime Gulch Fire. The majority of the fire was on National Forest System lands (366); with the remaining acreage on private land (145).

Last nights storm starts some new fires within the containment lines of this fire
North fork fire and USFS are aware and are keeping a close watch on this.
Smoke ans sometimes flames will be seen within the fire line
