The Insurance Service Office (ISO) classification for a fire protection district is based on many facilities and practices. Communities MUST evaluate their own property based on these guidelines.
In light of recent major events, such as Hayman, Hi Meadow, Buffalo, and Snaking fires, A homeowner or business owner needs to ensure their local fire protection district, as well as personal mitigation processes, are following these guidelines, in order to better understand the coverage their insurance company is protecting you with, as well as informed rational reasons for uninsurable property.

As an aside, any insurance company NOT basing their decisions on these guidelines, just to get better rates, should be looked at very close for their abilities to cover you in a disaster.
