It is going to be a cold day tomorrow so going to try a new recipe called Cabbage Roll Soup which has all the ingredients for cabbage rolls but in a soup - if it's any good, I'll post it to the Pinecam Cookbook.

Does anyone else make anything like this? If so, would you share your recipe?

hi DL! sure sounds yummy - i luv cabbage rolls! and atchly, a modified version of cabbage soup (from the cabbage soup diet) is also very good.

closest thing i've made is german too, translated into liver dumpling soup. don't gag - it's quite tasty, and u can barely taste the liver when done rite. most germans buy the liver balls premade (ground liver & ground beef) but here i need to make from scratch. i havn't perfected the recipe yet, but it's getting closer!

So, I'm curious....

Cabbage roll as in stuffed cabbage leaves (beef, tomato sauce) or as in a hand-held sandwich/"Runza" (meat, cabbage & seasonings enclosed in a rich egg-based dough & baked) ? I've heard the name cabbage roll applied to both.

If it's the latter, I'd be really interested in the soup "translation" !
Now I'm in the mood for a Runza....

Yes, "Cabbage roll as in stuffed cabbage leaves (beef, tomato sauce) " but a runza sure does sound tasty!
