I thought some of you might find this interesting... In a box in my garage I found an old KitchenAid mixer. Neither my husband nor I remember where it came from. KitchenAid tells me, based on the serial number, that it was made between 1927 and 1941! How little these stand mixers have changed over the years!

Wow - that's really cool! Pretty much just a bunch of colors now and I'll bet this one is more "heavy-duty" than the new mixers.

Oh my, I've never seen a mixer that old. It sure looks like it would go on working for ever unlike so many of today's products. Thanks for posting the image.

Wow. It's interesting how much changes all these years as I still have mine. Probably it's like 10 years old one. Thanks for sharing.

Kitchen-Aid mixers that are this old were actually made by the Hobart Corporation, just like the big commercial mixer we use at the cafe. All steel gears inside, they usually last forever and are FAR superior to the new ones that actually have some plastic gears and are very easy to destroy by making lots of bread... we killed 2 of the biggest mixers kitchen-aid makes by making too much bread.

Nice post!

My Kitchen-Aid is middle-aged. Inherited from my Mom more than 20 years ago.
It was made by Hobart and is a true workhorse.

Yes, it was made by Hobart! Here's a photo of the Hobart logo on the side opposite the on/off switch.
