ChampagneAbby, your recipe for Flourless toffee banana cake looks really great - especially for low carb people (we're still around) and for gluten free people.

I'm not sure what "golden syrup" is? Do you mean like Karo Light Corn Syrup which is used in pecan pie? Or is it something else?

Ah - I forgot about the golden syrup - it's a British light treacle. You can get it here though: I've seen it in the Safeway bakery section occasionally.

The cake really is delicious, very moist and keeps well - always assuming I hide from my husband

Thanks ChampagneAbby. I'll look for it.

And I've tried the "hiding from my husband" and that doesn't work very well. When I make a dessert for a HAGS meeting, I put some on a separate plate (like the corners or a broken slice or a too browned cookie) and he doesn't care about the looks, just the taste. Thank goodness...

The recipe says it will last for days. I want to know how you keep it for days. Mine disappears on the first day!!

You need to be very devious with the hiding places

:coffee screen:

Good idea, put the goodies to hide in a box my dear husband would never look in - like oatmeal or in am empty box of laundry detergent (well covered of course).

You could probably hide it in the washer or dryer, too...
