No one can argue that the "blue wave" didn't happen nationwide, however it seems to have in Colorado.

Colorado now sits along with most other solid blue states with a trifecta. Colorado Governor, State and House all Dem majority (and treasurer, and attorney general).

Governor Polis, the first openly gay and Jewish Colorado Governor, is more liberal than Hickenlooper (future president nominee?).

I hope this means things can get done.

Columnist Mike Littwin at Colorado Independent said Tuesday was very possibly the greatest night ever for Democrats in Colorado. Trumpism was the clear loser.

It scares me for what might "get done" without any checks and balances.

What's clear is Colorado is no longer a swing state. It's solid progressive. Cory Gardener is going to have a tough job in 2 years.

Californification can proceed at an increased pace now. Texas is next.

The only thing saving Colorado from becoming like California where the middle class have been taxed out of the state is TABOR. The progressives in this state cannot willy-nilly raise our taxes (no matter what they call distributing the wealth such as "fees").

What is clear to me is that our country is divided, and that is not going to change anytime soon. What that means is that we all need to learn to work together for what is best for our country. Each side will need to learn to compromise and find common ground they can agree upon, instead of becoming entrenched in polarizing views. I believe we still have more in common as Americans than the differences we find in opposite political views. I hope I am right because if we continue to become more polarized, only very bad times are ahead for this country. Hopefully we all can put our love of country above the ideals of a political party and find solutions to the issues that affect all of us as citizens. Everyone may not agree on the solution, but if we work together and listen to each other, we may be surprised at what we can accomplish.

I believe the legislature can make TABOR null and void, it is just that they have not had the nerve to do so. As an example - recall that the legislature did grab the money for open space made from the lottery - and we passed another referendum to change it back.

I think the Dems will remove TABOR and the spending spree will start.

I hope TABOR is removed, so we can fund schools properly. TABOR is antiquated.

Yes, spending limits are not progressive!
