oooooh warrenk that's awful! i was cringing when i hadda reset (as in to factory specs) my laptop since it stopped accepting internet access. i'm supposed to get around 12 Mbps, but at the time was only moving 3.81 Mbps. it took forever to reinstall my windows program! i hav exede, and i'm very pleased w/ their service, even if i think they're a bit pricey. and then dell charged me $200+ to buy a year's contract for service to fix my software issue after they figgered it wasnt' the drivers. fixed the problem, but now i can't print. another followup call coming from them on tuesday, when i'll giv the a list of issues yet to resolve. may as well make use of my paid-for contract!

Here is something so very sad, I might as well use dial up. The really strange thing is my upload speed is faster than my download - what is that all about? :thud: It seemed to get worse after my neighbor removed internet from her centurylink service - I wonder if they moved my line when they did this.

I have Rise Broadband and need to cancel. I have read horror stories of people trying to cancel their service. Has anyone had experience cancelling Rise Broadband. I have been with them 5 years so I won't have any early termination fees. Besides the router and phone adapter do they require you dismount and return the radio and do they send you a return box for all equipment returns? Their customer service isn't being much help. Thanks for any advise.

I tested my CenturyLink internet the other day with a third-party test. Download speed = 0.8
The test redone through the CenturyLink website said download speed = 19.9

I can tell you by the inability to use my internet at that moment CenturyLink's test is pretty suspect.

I have always used this service no matter where I am or what device
https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/upl ... load-test/

I just compared it's results to CL speedtest and they were basically the same around 37mbps

My neighbor's wife cancelled their CL and then he tried to start up service again he couldn't, he said that CL had oversold the broadband. The internet drops several times a day out in Harris Park, usually during the day or late evening/early a.m. It seems the further out you are the crappier the service.
