I'm curious why you ask for "Purina Kitten Chow". Purina "Chow" foods are consistently rated as HORRIBLE by the pet food ratings groups. Your request list asks for GOOD adult cat food so why not for kitten food as well? I assume you would accept other brands of kitten food? Or is it used for some reason other than food?

Hi there, thank you for your question! We do use Purina Kitten Chow with our kittens because of its high carbs and weight gain effects. Often kittens in shelters are very malnourished and need to gain weight quickly in order to thrive. We use a combination of the Kitten Chow and basic kitten formula wet foods to get them caught up on that. Once they grow older and growth is less of a concern, they can be moved to a different food. We do accept different brands and welcome any donations that the community would like to offer. Any brand suggestions we can bring to our vet and consult with them on what best suites our needs here at the shelter especially concerning growing little kittens.
