Thanks to you, everyone else who makes this happen, and the troops for keeping our freedom.

Love the hat BeerGod! That gave me an idea. A couple of those, to go with the Charlie Brown trees, may make nice gifts for our Troops!

TSAC has actually been busy corralling the HUGE pile of donations recently collected from clients and management of On The Move Fitness, RidinHy06, and numerous other generous members of our mountain community.
It is ALL IN right now and on the way to Afghanistan!

Here is a load of 8 boxes shipped out on November 28:
Image
This is yours truly, BGR, with boxes 9 through 16 about to go to our Chinook troops to enjoy and share with several remote bases that they regularly visit with supplies.

We were able to pack up the rest of the above mentioned donated goodies for another eight boxes departing on December 7!
Image
You guessed it!
That is Mrs. Claus (aka Mrs. BGR)

That makes a total of TWENTY FOUR boxes heading to Afghanistan thanks to all of you wonderful members of the pinecam community!
The "goodies" are wonderful but the ca$h donations well covered the Postal costs of $17.40/Flat Rate box!

Due to the expected Holiday rush, TSAC will not send any more boxes until after the New Year.
I am thinking that we will be getting LOTS of comments and reports of outbreaks of smiles in that dreary and dangerous place.
Please stay tuned to this extended post for reports of the responses as soon as they come in.

All of you supporters out there can feel proud of what you have brought to our troops over there.
The Holidays are an specially hard time to be that far away from home.
From the "Charlie Brown Christmas" trees to the virtual flood of cookies, snacks, energy bars, and other "hard to get" goodies, you can be sure that our troops will feel the love!

Thank you!
TSAC thanks you for letting us be the portal for your generosity!

The Christmas spirit in our mountain community is AWESOME to nearly OVERWHELMING!

The Rustic Station in downtown Bailey took it's turn to collect items for our troops in Afghanistan!
On Thursday, 13 December, I was called to pick up a large tub of items collected by the owners, staff, and patrons of this landmark in Bailey.
Image
Above is the owner, Lynn Griffin (L), assistant chef Bernie Vansenus (C), and Head Chef Christian Hawks (R) presenting the tub of goodies!
(I am glad that I had help carrying the tub out to my car!)
This is a wonderful "outreach" extending Season's Greetings to our troops in Afghanistan!
In addition to the edible goodies there were 17 hand-written and beautiful Holiday cards signed and decorated by staff and patrons.

On Friday we got the first indication from our contact in Afghanistan that the boxes had begun to arrive.
(The first 8 boxes were in the Post Office on November 25 - so you can see how backed up the pipeline has become as typical of this Holiday season!)
This is the email from our contact:

Mike,

The packages arrived and have been received with much joy and thanks. The Charlie Brown Christmas Trees are alive and well with one adding some much needed festivity to the Operations Planing Room while the other is making it rounds between the crew common area and various aircraft (yes, we are flying around with it).

As always the consumables sent are very well received and all the Soldiers feel very well cared for. Half of the boxes we dropped off at the refuel pads to personnel at our out-stations. I know they were well received.

As usual, I feel that our thanks for your support barely is sufficient for the love and generosity you have shown us. Caring and doing good is what this world needs and your group does it with flying colors.

With all my respect,

Mike

The reference to "your group" above really represents all of our generous mountain community.
TSAC is proud to be the conduit to pass along your gifts and use your donated money for postage!

There are 16 additional boxes in the pipeline which should easily arrive in time for Christmas!
It warms my heart to know that they are taking the "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree" along with them in the Chinook helicopter!

This morning I put all 17 Holiday cards in a "Flat Rate Padded Envelope" (along with a Mt. Evans "Seasons of Our Mountains" 2019 calendar) and got it to the Bailey Post Office in time to go out in the noon pick-up!
It may or may not get there by Christmas but it does go in the "Diplomatic Mail/American Troops" mail category which means sooner delivery is possible!

Our supported unit should be over there well into February, 2019, so we will ship another load of goodies right after the New Year.
We will regularly check the TSAC box outside of King Soopers in Aspen Park so feel free to drop items there - or contact us through PM and we might be able to arrange direct pick-up.

Please have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
THANK YOU for keeping our troops in your minds and hearts!

All of TSAC
and the BGRs
