Congratulations to the Bichon Frise. :exactly:

I also hate that the dog show is no longer on USA. The other announcers were more "into" the dog show on a personal level. The announcers on FS1 are quite boring and could be reporting any old sporting event. I don't think they really want to be there. Not to mention I deeply miss the additional opportunities to watch the Subaru Barkley commercials on USA.

naturegirl2000, both Gail Miller Bisher and Jason Hoke have been in the dog world for a long time, as breeders, trainers, and Hoke as a judge. I think their commentary was fine, but I do miss David Frei. Chris Myers is a sports announcer, and I am not even fond of him in that role. He did better this year with a highly scripted commentary than he did last year, but his constant mispronouncing of Westminster as West-min-is-ter really grated on my nerves. I went to a college with that same name, and it bothered me when people mispronounced the name way back then, too. The inclusion of the athlete commentaries at the beginning of each group and the use of Shannon Sharp as a "point of interest" commentator did little to please me also. Just like lots of other events now, the promoters seem to be dumbing down the programs to try to appeal to audiences other than dog fanciers. I certainly agree that events like major televised dog shows should try to inform watchers and draw more interest to the "fancy" but these fluff pieces aren't pleasing to those who truly love the sport of dogs and don't give that much information either. JMO

Otherwise, I really enjoyed watching both nights of the show. The quality of the entry was really good and I thought the judging was really good, too. I also like David LaFave, who introduces the dogs.
