OK...it's becoming a little clearer as to what we were actually thinking when we adopted these two:

Where can you "adopt" Corgis?

At the Corgi Orphanage.

We normally "adopt" or rescue dogs from a shelter. I used the term out of habit. We got these two from a local breeder.

I am glad to hear that. I think if there was an actual place to adopt I would be inundated with Corgi butts.

Hmmm, OK.
Other names auditioned & negotiated:
She: Cricket, Piper, Diva, Mini-Me, Fiona, Philomena, Winnie, Harper, Scout
He: Guinness (black & tan!), Oliver/Ollie (please sir, I want some more), Samuel (L.Corgi, cuz there may be cussing in our future)), Winston (nod to Churchill), Benson (Major Benson Winifred Payne), Wee-Man (multiple meanings), Timmy (a la South Park), Gus
There were a few others which have been forgotten due to sensory overload.

Once the Mockingbird references were initially rejected for the female, I got on a UK focus. My favs were Guinness & Cricket...which were vetoed. We were at an impasse, referring to the pups as "Mistah & Sistah" which brought my Yankee accent to the surface.
Then BG independently considered "Scout" from a Lewis & Clark perspective (as the male proved quite an explorer of the "undiscovered wilderness" that is our backyard). Once in play, "Harper" was the obvious selection for the female.

Comical options were thrown out for giggles. The best was "Boris & Doris". Remember the scene where Jamie Lee Curtis gets a phone call about an assignment & code names toward the end of "True Lies"? Too funny!
"Lois & Clark" anyone?
(edited to correct error pointed out by BG)
